Charlie McClary Profile:

Charlie lives on a ranch 14 Km west of Smithers, B.C. in the beautiful Bulkley Valley with his wife Jan and three of their seven children. Charlie and Jan moved to Smithers in January 2002 from the Fraser Valley where they had owned two auction companies, McClary Stockyards from 1982 to 1994 and Paton & Smith Farm Services from 1983 to present, sold farm and ranch real estate, fed cattle and raised Quarter Horses. Today Charlie continues to specialize in farm and ranch real estate sales throughout B.C. and with Jan they operate a cattle and horse ranch and continue to hold the odd auction sale.

Charlie McClary – McClary Land and Cattle Ltd.

McClary Land and Cattle Ltd. (formally Paton and Smith Farm Services Ltd.) is owned and operated by Charlie and his wife Jan. Under this company they offer a range of agricultural services being farm appraisals, farm auctions, livestock order buying and run a cattle/horse ranch raising and selling registered Gelbvieh and Angus cattle and registered Quarter Horses. Jan and son Ben run the ranch farming 500 acres of cropland, feedlot 500 to 600 yearlings, calving 250 mother cows and run 15 brood mares. Charlie helps out in his spare time.

Charlie McClary – Family Man

Charlie and Jan have raised 7 children, Sarah, Michael, Luke, Ryan, Ben, Katie and Chase. Sarah lives in Smithers on a 5 acre farm with her boyfriend  Ron (fellow Realtor) and works for Charlie and Ron with their real estate and part time at the Re/Max Bulkley Valley office. Michael and Ryan both live and work in the Fraser Valley. Luke works in Smithers but is presently doing an equipment operators coarse in the Fraser Valley. Ben lives in Smithers and is working full time on the ranch. Katie and Chase are both in high school at Smithers Secondary,  belong to 4H, help out on the ranch (a lot), enjoy skiing in the winter, baseball in the summer and are typical ranch raised teenagers. Charlie and Jan are the leaders of the Evelyn 4H Club and members of the Smithers Rodeo Club.
